Understanding Abrasions

Abrasions are skin scratches, which may affect the epidermis, a portion of the underlying layers or all layers of the skin. Abrasions are examined, rinsed and cleaned as well as the wounds described above. However, the anesthesia is more difficult, which is particularly problematic when large amounts of dirt, stones or glass are in the abrasion, which is often the case.
