Multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by a scattered, rag-like demyelination in the brain and spinal cord. Common symptoms may include visual and oculomotor abnormalities, paresthesias, weakness, spasticity, voiding dysfunction and mild cognitive symptoms. Typically, neurologic deficits are varied, with remissions and exacerbations gradually cause disability.
