Sporotrichosis is a cutaneous infection, which is caused by saprophytic mold schenckii Sporothrix. Pulmonary and hematogenous involvement is unusual. The symptoms consist of cutaneous nodes that spread through lymph channels and crumble into abscesses and ulcers. The diagnosis is made by the cultural detection of pathogens. Sporothrix schenckii can be demonstrated to rose or Berberitzenb├╝schen, peat moss and similar plants. Vegetable gardeners, gardeners, farmers and wood workers are infected most frequently, typically after minor trauma involving contaminated material. Unlike the other dimorphic fungi, S. schenckii is not inhaled into the rule, but passes through small cuts and abrasions of the skin into the body. Symptoms and signs The most common cause for lymphokutanen infections. They typically involve a hand and arm, although they can occur anywhere on the body. Primary lesions may occur on exposed surfaces of the feet or face. A primary lesion may appear as small, hard papule or occasionally as a slowly spreading subcutaneous node that ultimately necrosed and sometimes ulcerated. Typically begins a chain of lymph nodes that drain the affected region in order to spread a few days or weeks later, slowly but progressively and train moving subcutaneous nodules. In the absence of treatment, the overlying skin reddens and may later necrosis, occasionally abszedieren or ulcerate or superinfizieren bacterial. Systemic symptoms and symptoms of infection remarkably absent.
