Pityriasis lichenoides is a clonal T cell disorder which, in response to foreign antigens (infectious z. B. or drugs) are formed and is often associated with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.
Pityriasis lichenoid has different acute and chronic forms, which are separate entities in general, but lesions can develop from acute to chronic form. The acute form usually occurs in children and young adults with episodic asymptomatic, chickenpox-like lesions, often with scarring that typically disappear within weeks or months. Antibiotics (eg., Tetracycline, erythromycin) or phototherapy are therapeutically often useful.
