Balanitis obliterans xerotica This lesion, another name for Lichen sclerosus et Atrophicus in men, refers to a hardened whitish region near the tip of the penis, often narrows the meatus. It results from chronic inflammation and can lead to phimosis, paraphimosis or urethral stricture. Topical drugs including corticosteroids, tacrolimus, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs can be used, but their effectiveness is limited. Surgery is required in severe cases.
