Parasitosis

In delusional parasitosis patients mistakenly believe to be infested with parasites.

Diagnosis Clinical Investigation The diagnosis is suspected by a medical history and physical examination. The assessment requires that a real parasites and other physiological disorders by careful physical and laboratory tests as native preparations and other clinically indicated tests are excluded. Psychological support and possibly antipsychotics, it is important to build an empathetic and supportive relationship with the patient. Although she is often rejected, the most effective treatment with neuroleptics is done (see table: Conventional antipsychotics).
