Ischemic Colitis

Under ischemic colitis is meant a transient reduction in the gehene colonic blood flow.

Necrosis can occur, but is limited to the mucosa and submucosa usually causing only occasionally, necrosis in question, which makes an operational intervention required entire wall. Ischemic colitis occurs mainly in the elderly (> 60), the cause is atherosclerosis of the small vessels suspected (atherosclerosis). It can also be a surgical complication of abdominal aorta, (Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA)) itself.
