Introduction To Pediatrics

Children develop physiologically and emotionally. Therefore, it is useful to define certain age-appropriate groups. The following terminology is used in this section: Newborn: birth-1 month infant: 1 Month to 1 year Small child: 1-4 years Older child: 5-10 years Pre-Growing Child: 11-17 and 17-19 years treated this section diseases and disorders that occur exclusively in children (including those that may persist into adulthood) and those which has characteristics different from those of adults. Pediatric diseases and disorders that occur more frequently in adults and in a similar way represent (z. B. pharyngitis, asthma, diabetes) are covered in more detail in other parts of the MSD manuals.
