Ganglia are cystic swellings v. a. particularly occur by the hand and here on the dorsal side of the wrist. If they become symptomatic, the aspiration or excision is the treatment of choice.

Ganglion account for about 60% of chronic soft tissue swelling in the area of ??the hand and wrist. They usually develop spontaneously in adults aged 20-50 years, women are affected three times more often.
