Sporotrichosis is a cutaneous infection, which is caused by saprophytic mold schenckii Sporothrix. Pulmonary and hematogenous involvement is unusual. The symptoms consist of cutaneous nodes that spread through lymph channels and crumble into abscesses and ulcers. The diagnosis is made by the cultural detection of pathogens.
